TandIM VestiGO holds all the cardsTandIM VestiGO
A Leeds-based company, TandIM VestiGO, is offering a new and innovative source of identity card production. Unlike conventional ID card specialists, it uses the internet to create, record and track every card it supplies. New and replacement cards are ordered from a standard PC, there is no requirement for capital investment in special hardware or software, nor do staff need any special training.
It means that clients have complete management of the production process from end to end, something that organisations in increasing numbers now prefer – indeed, often demand.
Typical of these is a community health care provider. This client, with no system in place and looking to outsource, needed to prove the identity of its carers on site. The card design had to be flexible and easy to change. There was also a requirement to display various competencies and skills. Last, but by no means least, the card had to be tamper-proof.
TandIM VestiGO responded by designing a complete online system offering a standard card layout accommodating variable content at the time of ordering. The system also included simple online ordering of expired or replacement cards, together with electronic sign off prior to order.
Most importantly for this client, the solution provided meaningful, accurate and verified data stored centrally, with reports available to both management and users. As Howard Gould of TandIM VestiGO explains: “It put the client in total control of the whole process from a screen on his desk.”
This was also critical for a trade association operating in the construction sector. Needing to provide proof of competency, its ID cards, of variable quality, were being produced at different training centres throughout the UK. The template was an Excel spreadsheet – printed then cut by hand – with the ID numbers held centrally on a crude Access database, requiring each card to be recorded manually. The database had no input controls, therefore the data held was unreliable and unsafe.
Today, thanks to TandIM VestiGO, its tamper-proof plastic ID cards are printed to a consistently high standard, with every card created available for viewing online by authorised individuals. The data, held centrally, is encrypted and stored on secure mirrored servers, providing automatic notification of expiring cards. “The whole system has been simplified, speeded up and made more secure and, crucially, data is verified to ensure it is consistent,” says Howard Gould.
He continues: “Increasingly we find that clients want bespoke design and production coupled with complete traceability.” For more information TandIM VestiGO: telephone 0871 716 4060 or go to www.tandim.com/vestigo |
