Established in 1828, Bureau Veritas is a professional services company whose over-riding aim is to provide its clients with all the necessary services required to achieve, maintain and demonstrate compliance with their Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Social Accountability (SHEQ/SA) obligations.

Services are designed to respond to these requirements by either advising our clients of the most appropriate course of action (consulting), assessing and monitoring the client’s physical assets (inspection and laboratory services) or assessing the effectiveness of clients’ management systems (assurance/audit and certification services).

Bureau Veritas Training has been providing training services for over 25 years. Our expertise covers quality (ISO 9000), information security management (ISO 27001), as well as a range of health, safety and environmental courses. Bureau Veritas were the first IRCA approved training provider to deliver BS7799 (now ISO27001) Lead Auditor courses and today, and still remain a key player in the global ’27001’ market.

During this time, training methods have focused on traditional face-to-face courses. In response to the demand for assessable web based training, bv-online has been developed as an alternative to face to face learning. Bureau Veritas have developed a range of modules addressing a number of key compliance issues in the workplace.

Each module provides up to 20 minutes of Internet based training.

BV-online is far more than just an online PowerPoint presentation. Modules have been designed to be highly interactive, whilst remaining simple, to ensure access speeds are optimised across typical internet connections.

The content of each module is designed to address the key legal requirements relevant in each subject area, whilst also being capable of being tailored to address the client’s particular needs. Screens make use of file attachments and intranet links where additional information can be found. User understanding is assured by a series of end assessments, the content of which can again be tailored.

Bv-online has also been designed to provide full tracking and management reports, through the Cobent learning and content management system – a key issue to many organisations subjected to audit and compliance checks.

Bureau Veritas are also to shortly launch a public portal through which small to medium sized employers will be able to purchase modules through ‘pay as you go’ usage.
