CityGRID – intelligent 3D data management
 Met Geo Info is the home of CityGRID, the unique and innovative data management tool for 3D urban models.
CityGRID is recognised and established throughout Europe as a leading suite of tools for developing 3D city models and is used by clients for: Urban planning and development, 3D project simulation, building documentation (city scale) and public consultation.
CityGRID is a modular software system, unique in its design with a relational database management system (RDBMS) at its core and is optimised to work with a huge range of data formats. Models can be generated from raw survey data (photogrammetry, or point-clouds generated from LiDAR or terrestrial laser scanning equipment) or from an ‘off the shelf’ model. Once in CityGRID, even models downloaded from Google Earth can take advantage of the RDBMS based approach.
The primary advantage of CityGRID lies in the innovative ‘line-orientated’ approach to 3D modeling as opposed to the conventional ‘face’ approach. This methodology allows us to: maintain the topology of the geographic data, and undertake maintenance routines en-masse and uniformly across the model
CityGRID is a suite of tools that can be run independently, or for maximum benefit integrated with each other.
